reconnecting

Tangletree forest therapy invites you to disconnect from the technical world and reconnect with our natural world.

Simply we take you for a slow, silent, mindful walk in nature.

These guided sessions are not hikes, or long in duration and we do not allow dogs or small children on our sessions, even though we love them.

These guided sessions are not hikes, or long in duration and we do not allow dogs or small children on our sessions, even though we love them.

The focus is on YOU.

Through gifting this time to yourselves with only the natural interruptions of nature you can start re-balancing yourself.

Using different techniques we will invite you to:

- relax and breathe,

- try and activate your parasympathetic system,

- explore both your senses and the environment, and

- slow down both your body and mind

You will be guided through different gentle breathing techniques to help activate your parasympathetic system.

We then invite you to try and focus on each sense during our guiding session.

There are no right or wrong ways to do this everything we ask you to do is either a suggestion or invitation. There is nothing that we ask that we don't

There are no right or wrong ways to do this everything we ask you to do is either a suggestion or invitation. There is nothing that we ask that we don't do ourselves.

Each sense except for taste is involved in some way through the session. There is no set order as we always see what our surroundings offer us.

Although we ask you to be silent we will at various times invite people to share what they may have experienced, or recalled or noticed.

Towards the end of the session you will be guided to a quiet space under a canopy of the trees. There we will invite you to allow yourselves to relax further in whatever position is most comfortable for you.  We will then guide you through a mindfulness and meditative activity.

We start re-balancing and supporting our immune system by using the unseen healing power of nature.

Forest therapy is not a cure for illnesses but has been found to help support our natural defenses and can complement traditional medicine.

There is a wide body of scientific evidence supporting the benefits of forest therapy.

Whilst playing outdoor sports I learned how to breathe and use mindfulness in nature to help me calm myself during stressful situations. As a physiologist I understand how nature affects us.

Throughout my life all my best experiences happened in nature and it felt like a natural progression to become a forest bathing+ guide and encourage others into nature therapy.
